Our favorite
lunar eclipse was one which occurred just before dawn on a perfect
night. It provided an opportunity to venture out at an early hour,
prepare a contemplative breakfast over a campfire (we're fond of
campfire coffee), and watch as the show unfolded overhead. Just the
sun, the moon, and our own heavenly body in between. It resulted in
a better understanding of our place in the cosmos.
Part of our
Handfasting collection, this ring celebrates the spirit of
Neopaganism, which holds Earth and all of nature to be sacred.
Handfasting is very flexible, in that there is no universal
procedure for the ceremony, which can accommodate disparate
traditions the marriage partners may bring to the union, including
Christianity, Buddhism, and others.
This ring
captures our celestial relationship. Pictured on one side are
mountain peaks with a crescent moon (the texture and composition of
the sky seem to suggest van Gogh's 'Starry Night'). On the other
side a canary diamond sun, spreading an arc of rays.
These front
and back panels are but two of four on the ring. The remaining two
polished panels could also be personalized by special request
(initials, equinox date, images, philosophy), so you may make your
own statement for your handfasting or celebration of your choice...
in an Earth friendly manner. Seeking Celtic designs? Please
